Sara Does India

What I want to get in India: silks, spices, the Black Death. What I will probably get in India: food poisoning, heatstroke, too much work. What you probably want from this blog: gory details of interpersonal relationships. What you will probably get from this blog: a candid description of my travels and thoughts, sans (too much) drama.

maybe you're gonna be the one that saves me

This is the second night in a row that I've stayed up until four a.m. Me and my silly decisions. I didn't wake up until noon today; I ate some easymac, watched a couple of episodes of 'Scrubs', and then went to Mebaz with Matt to pick up his finished suits. We also had a late-afternoon meal at the Taj Krishna, which wasn't particularly satisfying, but was still entertaining. After finishing at Mebaz, we came back home, picked up Jessie, and went to Maya's to hang out and have a v. late dinner. We didn't leave there until after one a.m., and then I came home, read up on the news, and watched some tv. Now it's four a.m., and I should definitely be asleep.

I was very sad to come home and discover (thanks to Vidya, although reading the news would have told me soon enough) that there were bombings in Bali today. So, Matt and I are now investigating other places to go, although Bali will probably be relatively safe again for awhile since terrorists usually go into hiding after things like this. Tops on the list are Vietnam, Cambodia, and Japan--Japan would top my list, except it's really far away from Singapore and is also much more expensive than southeast Asia. So, we'll see; I have to leave India by October 18, so even if Bali doesn't happen, I can't prolong my time in the subcontinent. I'm hopeful that things will work out, but it is so unfortunate that Bali isn't completely safe, since it's apparently gorgeous.

Okay, I'm exhausted, so I should go to sleep and consider all of this tomorrow. Happy October 1, everyone!

Vietnam would be really cool. However, I would spend a few days in Auckland with your Kiwi friends and then catch NZA to Tonga or the island of Viti Levu in Fiji.
"Ain't ever been there...they tell me it's nice."
