all the tough girls who never want me to see them cry
I got two emails from Walter's father today, but because they were labeled as confidential attorney/client communications, I cannot share the contents. However, these emails gave me no information to dissuade my father from believing that Walter is not nearly as popular as he seems--since there was no interest in the Walter Fan Club, my father is now convinced that Walter was a one-time phenomenon and that he would not be able to emerge victorious if the European photo contest was held again. I didn't have the heart to tell him that Walter's popularity is as enduring as it is completely inexplicable; I can't count the number of times I've had my heart broken over the fact that people love Walter more than me. If I could grow sideburns and refrain from talking for more than five minutes at a time, maybe I would be able to give him a run for his money, but alas I cannot.
Anyway, I was at the office for quite awhile today. Then, I came home and ate dinner in my old apartment, rather than the apartment that I live in now; this would break Ranjit's heart if he knew, and so I swore Shiraz to secrecy, but I don't know if Shiraz will be able to refrain from gloating over the fact that he poached me from Ranjit. The sad thing is that despite my guilt, I enjoyed the meal more than any meals I've had in Jayabheri for awhile; he made potato-and-leek soup that was really really good, and some pasta and a vegetable dish that was also tasty. Ranjit has been cooking for too many people, and he's also been slacking a bit so that he can get out of the kitchen and go to the gym. Ranjit is going home for a couple of weeks to see his family, and he's been working out constantly to get in shape before seeing his girlfriend. I can't blame him--but I must admit that Shiraz's food was a nice break from normal.
There is always work that I could be doing, but I believe that I shall go to bed instead. Goodnight!
